Dafabet will be once again the title sponsor for the World Pool Masters. The online sports betting operator is a partner with a host of high-profile sports brands, including Celtic FC, Norwich City FC, Durham County Cricket Team, and Warwickshire County Cricket Team. Dafabet also sponsors the British Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship. It was also the title sponsor of World Pool Masters 2017 & 2019.
Gibraltar will host the 2020 World Pool Masters. This tournament will feature 24 top players from around the world for a $100,000 prize. Matchroom Pool Club subscribers can purchase tickets for the tournament on Monday, 12/12, while the general public can purchase tickets on Tuesday 10/12. David Alcaide, last year's champion will defend his title against a stellar field of players.
Dafabet World pool Masters
Dafabet has renewed its title sponsorship agreement for the World Pool Masters. The tournament will be played in Gibraltar, 22-25 May 2019. The title sponsor of the World Pool Masters 2017 and 2018 was Dafabet. Dafabet also offers sponsorship deals for other sports. The company has previously partnered with La Liga football tournament, as well as the Sussex cricket side Durham.
Dafabet World Pool Masters, an international pool competition with nine balls, is held annually. This is the most popular event in its category, with a growing prize pool each year. The prize money for this year's event was $100,000. The tournament was won by David Alcaide, a Spaniard. Alcaide beat Alexander Kazakis of Greece by twice the length in the final. Niels Feijen, who defeated Shane Van Boening in the previous year's event reached the final. David Alcaide also lost to the Dutchman in round 1.
Joshua Filler
Joshua Filler, a Bonen German pool player, has made waves in the world professional pool. Filler, 21 years old, has won the China Open as well as the European 10-ball Pool Championships. He is the youngest player to win either one of these competitions. In addition to winning the China Open, he is also the youngest player to ever win the European Pool Championships.
Filler started playing the sport aged seven and was already competing on the national level. At twenty-two, Filler was able to make his Mosconi Cup debut. He also represented Europe at the event. He went on to win both the China Open 9 ball tournament and the European Pool Championship. The following year, he won the first world championship by beating Italian Carlo Biado. In addition to the World Pool Masters title, he won the Mosconi Cup and the World Cup of Pool. He also won the US Open Pool Championship.
Lo Ho-sum
Lo Hosum, the first Hong Kong player to make it to the World Pool Masters finals, expressed concerns over a recent budget cut. He remains unknown outside of Hong Kong despite his recent success. Lo entered the Gibraltar tournament as a wildcard player and won several matches to reach the final. He defeated Shane Van Boening in the quarterfinals but lost to Joshua Filler in the final. The pair tied at six-all before Lo's heroics came to an end.
The World Pool Masters nine-ball competition is held every other year to find the best pool players. The event was first held in Europe but expanded to include players from other parts of the world. Lo has a very solid professional record. He has also maintained a high ranking all through his career.
Sanchez Ruiz
Francisco Sanchez Ruiz won the 2022 US Open Pool Championship. He defeated Max Lechner 13-10 in final. This win places him at the top on the Live Nineball World Rankings. He also receives $50,000 as the first award. Sanchez Ruiz became the first Spanish player, becoming the first to win one among pool's oldest majors. Sanchez Ruiz was also awarded the $100,000 milestone, surpassing Shane Van Boening.
Sanchez Ruiz had to battle through a number of tough moments against Filler. But he was able get over his initial nerves to win the game after completing two racks consecutively. Sanchez Ruiz won with a two-rack buffer after Filler came back to tie the score at three points.
