Joe Perry is a snooker player you are likely to have seen for some time. British snooker player. He has had a few seasons at the lower levels of the game. He has also spent a few seasons at the top of the game. He made it to the Top 16 for his first time in 2002. He has however spent three seasons not in the top 20.

Joe Perry has been called both "the Fen Potter," and "the Gentleman." A member of the Cambridgeshire region, he turned professional in 1992 and he has been a full-time professional since 2003. Ken, his brother is also a professional.

Perry is a fixture on the international stage, despite not having won any major ranking events. He finished in the top 8 provisional rankings in 2011 and won a minor-ranking competition in 2015. He competed with Ronnie O'Sullivan in a battle at the Masters.

Perry has played in the finals of both the UK Championship and the European Open. He has also been to the quarterfinals of the World Championship. In 2004, he reached the semi-finals of the UK Championship, but he lost to David Gray. The following season, he defeated Stuart Bingham and Judd Trump, but he went on to lose to Stephen Hendry in the final.


Having begun his snooker career at the age of twelve, he began to make his name as a top professional in the early 1990s. He reached the finals at the European Open in 2001. In late spring 2001, he won the Welsh Open. He played in 2014's Wuxi Classic.

In the same season, he beat Matthew Stevens as well as Marco Fu and Jamie Cope, reaching the semi-finals for the Masters. He received his second ranking award. He also participated in the Xuzhou Open, and the Welsh Open. By the end of that season, he had dropped to a lowly 14th in the standings.

Despite falling to Stephen Hendry or Graeme Dott at the Welsh Open Masters, he is now in the top 50 of the world rankings. On his way to the top, he has won the Welsh Open, the Welsh Open Masters and the Xuzhou Open. He has also conducted courses to help others learn the game.

During his career, he has made a number of attempts to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan. He won a 9-5 victory in the first round of 2008 UK Championship. He was only one frame away from winning the 2017 Masters Finals, but lost to Ronnie O'Sullivan.

He defeated Mark Selby, the defending champion, in the first round at the 2018 World Championship. He won the 2015 Xuzhou Open. In addition, he has a number of courses and has been a guest commentator for the BBC.
