Wu, who was known as "Chia Chung Wu" when he was younger, beat Austria's world number one Ouschan in the finals by 11 points. Wu also won the World Eight-Ball Championship, and placed second in the World ten-ball championship.

The Dynamic Billard Veldhoven Open has commenced with the 9-ball individual competition. The Netherlands' largest sports channel, Ziggo Sports Channel will broadcast the first match live. There will be a semi final and the ultimate.
Albin Ouschan beat Ivar Saris in a thrilling match. Albin won nine of ten points to win the match. Next, he will face the winner of the Erol Kayas vs Michel Bartol match to make the knockout round.

David Alcaide defeats Shane Van Boening at the Dynamic Billard Veldhoven Open
The Dynamic Billard Veldhoven Open's final phase is over, and Shane Van Boening still has a chance of winning the title. The American had won the Predator World 10-ball Championship last year. Joshua Filler (reigning World Pool and Billiards Association nine-ball champion) will be his opponent in the final. Both men survived difficult draw conditions. Filler beat Gerson Martinez of Peru to reach the final round. Van Boening was facing Fedor Gorst from Russia. Filler won the second phase match by as much as four games.
Van Boening won the 64-player bracket as the top seed. He had spent countless hours in Qatar practicing his break shot. He used this to easily beat his first four opponents. The combined score was 44-14. He defeated Orcollo in round one, and then beat David Alcaide in round two.
